November 28th, 2007Today I got into the pictures I did for Kink.com in September. As I have no pay site, I’m going to post a bunch of my favorites for free, because I love you! I’m not an affiliate; I don’t get any more money. But you’re welcome to talk me up on their messageboards.
Looking through these photos makes me so jealous. I want to shoot porn this beautiful, but run it my way: messy and brutal and just a little bit off.

I agree, great photos.
To make images of this quality, you need two things: A beautiful model, and appropriate lighting. I’ve done lots of photography (at one point in my life I did it for a living) and it was then that I realised that photography is all about light. So the next time you’re at Kink, ask the excellent photographers/ cinematographers to explain to you the lighting setup. Using a lens of appropriate focal length matters, too. Snapshotters typically get too close when they’re shooting the human form, with the result that some limbs or appendages are wayyy too large, and others, wayyy too small. Also, it’s really difficult to make beautiful images using cheap consumer crap, so you’ll need to get serious gear.

The stuff on kink.com disturbs me to no end. I understand that sex work need not always be grounded in abuse or desperation, but can rather be a conscious life-style choice; however, there are gray areas of every shade in between.
I stumbled over your blog when I was researching exactly these gray areas. Now your scenes were not abusive, you clearly state so in the blog. On the other hand, a simple pat on the back of the head can be very demeaning and, in a sexual context, therefore abuse.
I cannot imagine that the short interview in the trailer was the whole negotiation for the heavy stuff you did. With whom did you negotiate? Only with the dom, director, or with both? Did one of the parties reject a proposal of the other parties? How detailed were these heavy scenes negotiated? Any surprises left open? Any negotiations between cuts? While you were tied up?

That’s the kind of porn I want to see, but I also know it wouldn’t really sell. Not in the current model anyway. The solution is to change the model. I’m not sure if I’ll figure out how to do that, but I’m always letting the idea percolate, as I think you know.
